Maison de Balzac

I lived for twenty-five years, rue Raynouard, next to Honoré de Balzac’s House. Very often in the summer, I had lunch, read, and wrote in his garden, which was open to the public.

I often imagined this house inhabited by Balzac himself. I imagined him in his garden, walking along the paths.

When I left Paris, I wanted to create a souvenir of this wonderful place where I wrote several of my films.

So I composed this candle, made of woody notes, spices, white flowers, and notes that evoke an old 100-year-old bourbon. I created a story around this legendary writer whom I never knew, but whose memory still lives in this house.
